General Observations

The property is a two-storey mid-terrace, smart location. The front door is locked with a deadbolt but there are no signs of forced entry at any access point prior to police entry. There is post accumulated behind front door – eight items dating back to October 15th.

There is noticeable chemical smell on entry.

The house is immaculate. Hotel tidy.

Kitchen

All surfaces spotless. Marble kitchen units and tops. Fridge nearly empty, looks barely used. Two bottles of unopened Pouilly-Fume wine. Two bags of carrot batons past their sale date (15th October) and several bottles of sparkling Evian. Freezer full of frozen prepared meals – Waitrose/Cook.

Unlabelled plastic bottle recovered from beneath sink. Not consistent with any commercial cleaning product. Contents unknown. Sealed and logged as Exhibit 15. Priority analysis requested.

Living Room

Furniture like new. No signs wear/tear. Large bookshelf with glass fronted cabinets. No personal effects.

Bathroom — First Floor

Door closed on arrival. Strong smell of bleach on entering.

Bath contains approximately 2cm of discoloured water. Sample taken.

Lipstick recovered from sink cabinet mirror - logged as Exhibit 13.

Bedroom — Front

Bed made. No worn clothing left out. Bedside table - sertraline 100mg (prescribed to Mrs S. Caldwell, dispensed 12 August 2024, approximately half remaining).

Single item of note: bedroom door handle broken from the inside. Once door is closed can only be opened again from upstairs hallway.

Bedroom — Rear

Empty. No furniture. No personal items. Carpet shows no signs of furniture ever having been used in this room.

Property Inspection Notes — Continuation

During inspection of first floor landing, attending officer PC R. Calloway (collar no. 4471) became aware of intermittent high-frequency tone. Source not apparent. Tone described as faint, consistent, approximately 2-3 second intervals. Not audible from ground floor. Strongest in master bedroom, northeast corner.

None of the other attending officers advised they could hear tone. Second sweep conducted. Tone persisted. Unable to locate source.

Summary

Property shows no evidence of disruption and very little signs of habitation consistent with M. Reeve’s statement (VRD-001-001). No phone or passport found at property.
