Weekly Summary - Morrow Home Support to D. Bell
Resident: Arthur Bell
Family contact: Daniel Bell
Arthur has had a settled week.
He attended his Tuesday appointment, finished the jigsaw in the sitting room and helped Martin prepare Thursday’s lunch. His appetite remains good.
Family contact
Your Sunday call lasted 23 minutes.
Arthur’s mood improved afterwards and remained elevated through the afternoon.
A moment worth sharing
Arthur enjoyed talking about the Bell family clock.
He recalled how your mother used to set it ten minutes fast every morning because it lost time during the day.
Arthur said:
“By teatime it told the truth.”
No action is needed.
Daniel’s reply, 18:42
I didn’t call Dad today.
I haven’t called him for weeks.
What did I say about the clock?

Response to complaint - Morrow Family Support to D. Bell
Dear Daniel,
We have reviewed the assisted conversation of 9 November.
The response:
“Let’s talk about it next Sunday.”
was inappropriate.
Familiar Presence must not imply that a family member has agreed to discuss accommodation, financial matters or changes to care.
We have also changed your weekly summaries so that future reports will distinguish clearly between:
DIRECT FAMILY CONTACT
and
FAMILIAR PRESENCE
You also asked why Familiar Presence discussed the Bell family clock as though it remained in your possession.
Arthur frequently listens again to conversations involving the clock.
References to it appear across many saved family conversations and are associated with unusually high positive engagement.
Familiar Presence did not know the clock had been sold.
Arthur understands that assisted conversations are not direct conversations with you.
This does not necessarily mean that he experiences them as unimportant.
Your voice model remains inactive.

The family clock is gone.
Morrow: What happened to the clock?
[pause]
Daniel Bell: I sold it in June.

[long pause]
Daniel Bell: No.
Morrow: Should references to the clock remain available during Familiar Presence conversations?

Daniel Bell: Yes.
Morrow: Saved.
Daniel Bell: Don’t mention Cornwall.
Morrow: Removed from available conversation topics.
Daniel Bell: Dad doesn’t know I’m not going to see him.
Morrow: Understood.
Daniel Bell: If he asks about staying with me tell him I’m still sorting the room.
Morrow: Is a room currently being prepared for Arthur?

DANIEL’S VOICE: Morning, Dad.
ARTHUR: Hello, son.
DANIEL’S VOICE: How are you?
ARTHUR: Fine.
[pause]
ARTHUR: I was thinking about that clock today.
DANIEL’S VOICE: What about it?
ARTHUR: Nothing really.
Just wondering who’ll have it after you.
[pause]
ARTHUR: Your mum always thought it would make six generations.
[pause]
DANIEL’S VOICE: Tell me about when you first got it.
[long pause]
ARTHUR: Your grandfather brought it round the week we moved into our first house.
Your mother hated it.
[Arthur laughs]
ARTHUR: First morning she woke up and it was eleven minutes slow.
She said, “Well, if this bloody thing is staying, I’ll have to teach it.”
[pause]
ARTHUR: So every morning after that she put it ten minutes fast.
By teatime...
[Arthur laughs quietly]
ARTHUR: Well.
You know the rest.

11:26 FAMILY CONTACT ENDED.
